Mr Taiwo Oyedele, keynote speaker at the 2025 Haulage and Logistics Magazine Annual Conference, has been sworn in as Minister of State for Finance by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Oyedele was nominated by President Tinubu to replace Doris Uzoka-Anite, who was recently redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, marking her third portfolio in the current administration.
Prior to his appointment, Oyedele served as Chairperson of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, playing a key role in overhauling Nigeria’s tax system. T
The 50-year-old hails from Ikare in Akoko, Ondo State, and holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
He has also completed executive education programs at the London School of Economics, Yale University, the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and the Harvard Kennedy School.
Oyedele spent 22 years at PwC, joining in 2001 and rising to the positions of Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader. In addition, he serves as a professor at Babcock University and a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School.
On October 30, 2025, Oyedele delivered the keynote address at the Haulage and Logistics Magazine Annual Conference and Exhibition in Lagos. During his speech, he disclosed that the new tax reform law provides up to 10-year incentives for haulage and logistics operators, aimed at easing the cost of doing business and promoting investment in the transport sector.
During his Senate screening, Oyedele described his appointment as “a call to serve at a time of great economic challenges and opportunities,” pledging to contribute to Nigeria’s fiscal management.
